Alex grew up sailing and brings a diverse set of professional experiences on a global scale to Sail2Change as a nonprofit executive, a social entrepreneur, an environmentalist, an educator, and a member of multiple boards. His experience, includes currently serving as the Executive Director of Sail2Change; previously serving as the Executive Director of Ecology in Classrooms and Outdoors (ECO), Executive Director of the International Anti-Poaching Foundation and Project Aware Foundation;  and previously serving as the Director of Development and Director of Business Development for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, serves on the Advisory Board of Ocean Defenders Alliance, and actively consults for organizations serving the environmental, conservation, indigenous, social services, housing, education, youth and diversity nonprofit sectors. Alex is a full merit scholarship alumnus of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders, and an alumnus of John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Executive Education. As a former professional educator and outdoor guide, Alex is especially excited to work with the talented Sail2Change Team as it takes on new programs, locations, and opportunities
