Situational Awareness - Wilderness First Responder

Now that our four-week summer program is cancelled until next year, we are bringing our partners and presenters online to teach the topics they were going to share in the backcountry! Our amazing friends at Beyond the Edge Institute (BTEI) in Central Oregon are experts on backcountry medicine and rescue. They have graciously offered to share some of their lessons to our Sail2Change community free of charge. BTEI founder, Ray Storm, will spend about 45 minutes going over one of the most valuable topics taught during a Wilderness First Responder course - Situational Awareness. This brief talk is intended to help individuals use critical thinking to respond to emergency situations. Using algorithms and simple acronyms, we teach you how to create a process to slow down, become aware of your situation and make intelligent decisions. 

This seminar will be held over ZOOM. You do not need to have a ZOOM account to join in, but ZOOM has a free version if you choose to sign up for it. You will be able to interact and ask questions throughout the exercise.
