About the Event
A writing workshop to explore creative writing with a focus on poetry as a tool to connect our inner selves to the outer world.
About your facilitator:
From Olympia, Washington, Frederick has worked in experiential education and sustainable agriculture throughout the Pacific Northwest, East Africa and the world. Some of his adventures include serving as a Peace Corps environment volunteer in
Tanzania, leading trips from dog sledding in Montana to scuba diving in Zanzibar, and most recently graduating from University for Peace in Costa Rica. In his wanderings, Frederick has found writing to be a great source of connection, whether sending letters over oceans or tuning into the delicious details of new places. Frederick’s career in poetry began in 6th grade when he
performed “Ode to a Chair” on a local-access trivia show. Since then his work has been published in many literary magazines and bathroom stalls. Currently he is working on publishing his first collection of poems.
