After completion of the Year at Sea, students will be invited to remain in Portland to live under Sail2Change housing while attending 12th grade at a local high school. 

 

Students are offered the option to work part-time for the organization for compensation. The same amount earned will be set aside in escrow by Sail2Change and will be available as part of tuition if the student decides to register for continued education. Students are able to apply for mentorship and spokesperson positions.

 

During senior year, students have a chance to complete their preparations for a Captain's license which begins during their Year at Sea. Sail2Change will assist the students in their studies to build a nautical career if they select to do so.
